Explore the historic centre of Lagos

Half a day can be easily spent exploring the historic centre with its narrow-cobbled streets, traditional houses and stunning harbour front. Few towns in the Algarve have the variety of historic buildings, attracting visitors return year after year.

Sagres and Cabo Sao Vincente

The most western edge of the Algarve and is characterised by impressive cliffs, raging seas and windswept landscapes. The powerful seas and expansive beaches attract surfers from all over Europe and this has provided Sagres with an understated trendy and vibrant atmosphere.

Spend a day visiting Silves

Silves is a laid back and extremely scenic town, dominated by the huge redbrick castle. leading down to the slow flowing Arade River are cobbled streets lined with traditional houses. Silves makes for an enjoyable day trip from Lagos and is connected by the regional railway.

The Ponta da Piedade

The Ponta da Piedade are a series of beautiful sandstone cliffs, considered to be the finest natural feature of the western Algarve. This headland to the south of Lagos has been eroded over time by powerful winter storms to form unique cliff formations, which include sea arches, grottos and delightful caves.

Dolphin safaris

In the Algarve, there are many species of dolphins and other wildlife. It’s definitely an ultimate experience, a must do during your stay . The dolphins are never guaranteed as they are living in their natural habitat , however , it is rare not to encounter the sighting of them, which is truly amazing.

Snorkelling or Scuba Diving

The Western Algarve offers a vast array of great scuba diving schools. From first time diver to fully qualified PADI they can take you out snorkelling along the beautiful Ponta da Piedade or take you on a boat dive to the most amazing underwater cliffs and wrecks.
